The nine units in this course cover the nature, characteristics, and functions of society and culture and cultural diversity; the nature, role, and dynamics of the group; the concept, aims, factors, and responsible agencies of socialization; the nature, role, and functions of social institutions; the relationship between school, society, and teachers; effective strategies for developing collaboration between school and community; community development theory (the objectives for collaboration; collaboration plans with parents); and an effective communication mechanism.
